ABOUT ME
As a kid, I remember one day going through some photos and realizing that one of my brothers had more photos taken of him than me. Knowing that I was the youngest and only girl in my family, this did not sit right with me and I brought this up to my mother. After she was enlightened about this, she made it a point to go out and buy me a lot of film (Ex. 110 mm film and 35 mm film) to make up for the amount of photos that I ‘felt’ that I was missing. What she and I didn’t realize at the time is that photography ended up becoming one of my favorite hobbies to do…and still does to this day! When I am taking pictures, I am not just taking a photo to take a photo. My goal is to elicit emotion and how it can be multifaceted depending on the subject matter. There is the phrase that I like to use: “I can hear your face” and I compare that somewhat to the phrase “A picture is worth a thousand words.” A picture/facial expression does all the talking for you and words are not necessary. While I do not have a professional background in photography, I have a passion for photography! There are so many photos that I have yet to look at because I can wait to see what emotion it will elicit from me or what feelings it will elicit from others once they see it. In a roundabout way, it’s the element of surprise when it comes to photography. Come with me on my journey through the many photos that I capture and let’s see what kind of an emotion or feeling I can elicit from you.
